When creating an artwork, children are encouraged to talk about what they want to draw, how they want to do it, and why they want it a certain way. In this way, they develop their language skills and learn how to communicate their ideas through the art-making process
An arts education helps strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In a study conducted by the Guggenheim Museum, it was found that making art helps kids to make calculated decisions and find different ways to approach problems.
Many of the activities involved in making art can help set a strong foundation for sensory motor development in children. When children hold a paintbrush to paint, use scissors to cut, or draw using a pencil, they are learning to control the muscles in their hands. This helps with the development of fine motor skills.
Children exercise their imagination when creating art, which helps nourish their creativity and cultivate a rich inner life.
Allowing kids to express themselves through art also provides a creative outlet for them to relieve stress. According to a study published in the journal Art Therapy, researchers found that 75% of people who engaged in 45 minutes of creating art had lower stress levels.
The whole idea behind MY ART SCHOOL is less is more. Students shouldn't have to clamour for a teacher's attention, especially when it comes to something as engaging as art.
That’s why we embrace a small teacher-student ratio (1:4) for your child's art lesson. We want to ensure your child gets the attention and guidance that they need to grow in their art journey.
MY ART SCHOOL is a revolutionary art school. We teach students to create their art pieces in a fun and innovative way with the Kipling method.
Before starting on any artwork, our teachers help our students to conceptualize what they want to create with Kipling method by focusing on the questions of What, Why, Who, Where, When, and How. Through this method, children are encouraged to verbalize their artistic ideas, which helps to hone their communication and critical thinking skills.
MY ART SCHOOL believes children's creativity can be activated further via the art-making process and the Kipling method.
Many children who stay in Yishun, Woodlands and Sembawang love to attend their art classes at our school. They enjoy the process of making art and are proud of the art pieces they make.
Our programs are specially designed to help children (ages 3 to 17) build their personality and character. By understanding the learning needs of your child, we are able to tailor a curriculum to attain their artistic goals, one step at a time. Instructors coordinate the speed of learning so that students can learn at their own pace.
Iqoh (Teacher Owl) is one of the popular art teachers at MY ART SCHOOL.
“The biggest mistake parents make is sending their child to a traditional art lesson in which one teacher oversees 8 to 20 students in a class,” Teacher Owl says. “This makes learning less effective as too many students have to try to jostle for a teacher's attention.
For an adult learner it might be OK, but for kids, it’s just not a good learning experience.
The younger your kids are, the more care and attention they need in their learning journey.”

My son has learnt lots and deepened his interest in art. Friends around me has been asking about his improvement in his drawing and painting skills and whereabout he take his art classes.
